Product Description
Retirement from sport can present some unique challenges for sports people. Whether retirement is a planned process or unplanned, some people may experience:
- anxiety about retirement
- fear of the unknown
- a loss of athletic identity
- a struggle to cope with life away from sport
Research indicates that pre-retirement planning influences the quality of adaptation to retirement. Therefore, planning in advance for some of the psychological challenges is a beneficial process.
This 1-hour workshop is a brief introduction to Retirement Planning for Sport and will cover the following:
- Identifying psychological challenges
- Coping strategies for psychological challenges
- Methods for managing the retirement transition
After this session, there are options to continue with my support on this topic, which can be tailored to your specific situation.
If your retirement is as a result of injury, you may also be interested in my Coping with Injury in Sport workshop which can be booked as an add-on to this session.
All sessions are delivered via Zoom on a day / time to suit you.
